Fair-Faced Concrete and Sustainability
- Open up New Possibilities of Fair-Faced Concrete -
Fair-faced concrete structures have the natural beauty that cannot be artificially designed attracting
architects around the world. A fair-faced concrete finish with a unique texture and excellent aesthetic
expression has widely used for world-renowned commercial buildings and residences as a popular high-end design.
However, it is easily affected by wind and rain as it does not have a protective layer.
There is also a problem such as occurrence of honeycombs and deterioration due to shoddy work, which it has
troubled architectural professionals.
Under these circumstances, we newly developed two sustainable systems using super durable special coatings to
solve these issues. The sustainable systems include “Fair-Faced Concrete-Look Decorative Coating System” and
“Fair-Faced Concrete Protection Coating System”.
We will introduce new systems that enable the maintenance and reproduction of the aesthetic appeal of concrete
buildings, contributing to creating a sustainable society for the future.
Fair-Faced Concrete-Look Sustainable Decorative Coating System
“CERAMI RC-FR
System”
CERAMI RC-FR System is a fair-faced concrete-look sustainable decorative coating system by
utilizing a unique foundation coating.
Acrylic silicone resin is used both for the mid-coat and topcoat (clear). It provides excellent
weather resistance and prevents carbonation of concrete. Additionally, the full water-based
system from undercoat to topcoat has low odour. It can be applied with a roller with excellent
on-site workability.
This is a colouring system which completely hides the substrate. It is perfect for renovation of
fair-faced concrete building requiring a large scale of repair works.

- Aesthetic Appeal & Colour Variation
With its unique foundation technique, CERAMI RC-FR System reproduces the texture of fair-faced concrete. The fair-faced concrete colour can be selected from among 10 standard colours. For the topcoat, clear finish and translucent colour clear finish are available.
- Easy Workability
The mid-coat covers the existing concrete substrate. Compared to conventional clear and colour clear systems, the surface treatment is easier, leading to a shortened work period.
- Environmentally Friendly & Safe
The water-based material by roller application has low odour with minimal scattering. It can be safely used in various application environments.
- Super Weather Resistance & Anti-Carbonation
With the excellent weather resistance, the topcoat suppresses concrete deterioration caused by ultraviolet rays and acid rain, and neutralization caused by carbon dioxide gas.
- Super Durability (optional specification)
Super durable topcoat is also available as an optional specification.

Fair-Faced Concrete Sustainable Protection Coating System
“CERAMI CRETE System”
CERAMI CRETE System is an environmentally friendly and sustainable system. The system maintains
the natural texture of the fair-faced concrete and simultaneously achieves the protection of the
concrete.
The system is comprised of newly developed water-based, penetrating, water absorption preventive
primer, CERAMI CRETE PRIMER and super durable water-based acrylic silicone resin clear, or super
durable, dirt resistant, water-based fluorine resin clear. CERAMI CRETE PRIMER provides water
absorption preventive layer and excellent sealing effect. With excellent prevention of water
absorption, permeability and weather resistance, the system prevents efflorescence, carbonation,
and protects fair-faced concrete under severe conditions over a long period of time.

Topcoat is available in gloss and 30% gloss. In addition, colour clear finish is also available. You can choose from a wide range of variations.

It prevents the deterioration of concrete by ultraviolet ray and acid rain. Therefore, it maintains the beautiful original appearance of fair-faced concrete over a long period of time.

Acrylic silicone resin is used for the mid-coat and topcoat (clear) with excellent weather resistance, preventing the neutralization of concrete. In addition, all water-based specification from undercoat to topcoat can be applied with roller, providing excellent on-site workability and safety.
